Finance Module

A general ledger built for toll manufacturers

Most accounting software does not understand the difference between a toll processing fee and a material cost. Littoral Finance does. Native GL, batch costing, and P&L by business line, all in the same system where your lots live.

Finance features

Financial clarity at the lot level

Toll manufacturing produces two fundamentally different revenue streams: fees for processing and markups on materials. A chart of accounts that does not separate them will mislead every decision that depends on it.

Native General Ledger
A full chart of accounts designed for contract manufacturing, with account classes for toll revenue, material revenue, cost of goods, and manufacturing overhead. Debits, credits, and a proper trial balance, posted atomically so every journal entry is either complete or not recorded at all. Not a reporting layer on top of a spreadsheet.
P&L by Business Line
Income statement separated by business line: toll processing, material sales, and ancillary services. Understand which principal relationships and which product categories are actually profitable.
Batch Costing
Material cost, labor allocation, and overhead applied to individual production batches. Know the actual cost of each lot before you invoice it. No surprises when the accountant runs the month-end numbers.
Accounts Receivable
Invoices created from confirmed shipments, tracked through to payment. Payments post directly against the invoice and the ledger, with cash reconciled automatically. Aging reports available without a separate system. EDI-enabled for principals that require electronic invoicing.
Accounts Payable
Supplier invoices matched to purchase orders and received lots. Three-way matching catches billing discrepancies before payment. Payments post directly against the ledger and the open balance. AP aging and cash flow projections based on actual open commitments.
Budget vs. Actual
Quarterly and annual budgets entered by account, compared to GL actuals in a running variance report. Catch overruns on material purchases or overhead before they close the books.
