FDA and GFSI audit expectations for document control are specific: current version available, obsolete versions removed from use, training acknowledgment records maintained. Littoral enforces all three automatically.
Version Control
Every document has a version number, effective date, and change reason. Previous versions are archived, not deleted. Auditors can see the complete revision history for any document in the system.
Approval Workflow
New documents and revisions route through a configurable approval chain before becoming effective. Document owner, QA review, and management sign-off stages with electronic signatures and timestamps.
Distribution Rules
Documents assigned to roles, departments, or specific individuals. When a new document or revision becomes effective, affected personnel are automatically notified and queued for training acknowledgment.
Obsolete Document Control
When a document is superseded, the previous version is automatically removed from active circulation. Personnel cannot access or print an obsolete SOP. The floor always sees the current version.
Training Acknowledgment Records
Every training event captured as a timestamped electronic record linked to the document version in effect at the time. Printable as a training roster for auditor review. Retained with no manual filing required.
